Future blood
Fabiana Gadano
The plastic we discard doesn't biodegrade. It breaks down into the environment. It blends in with the
sand and replaces it in the form of tiny particles. Ultra-pulverized by climatic action, we inhale it while
breathing, and it becomes part of our bodies through water and food. It's already circulating in our
bloodstream. We've long accepted it as part of our existence, and now we must also acknowledge it as
part of our anatomy.
Future Statment
I choose to express myself with the material I have at my fingertips. From the waste, the plastic bottles question me about their destiny. Some will be recycled, while others will drift in rivers and seas. With them, I create jewels that I offer to the aesthetic experience. I long to awaken the desire to use them and generate a reflection on the material that composes them. Contemporary jewels, as portable pieces, need a place on a body and crafts need a reflective mind. Contemporary jewelry, as a communication vehicle, opens up a channel to rehearse, once and again, our thinking. The plastic we discard doesn't biodegrade. It breaks down into the environment.
