REJECTION

REJECTION

Rejection is something every artist faces — the moment when a long-awaited email delivers the words: “We regret to inform you…” Even though we know that art is subjective, that selections depend on taste, context, and perspective, the sting is real. In this edition, we invited artists to share works and stories shaped by rejection. Pieces that didn’t make it into other shows now find space to be seen, appreciated, and understood in a new light. These contributions speak of disappointment, doubt, and vulnerability — but also of resilience, clarity, and strength. They reflect on the structures behind artistic selection and open a conversation about what rejection really means. Together, the works form a multifaceted portrait of persistence: a reminder that rejection is not the end, but part of the journey. This edition of NOD Magazine was presented during Munich Jewellery Week 2025.
