Points of view
We use the phrase points of view every day when asked about either social or personal situations.
My pieces are made of skin, organ that separates myself from others, the media with which we face the outside. We tend to forget this is indeed a dynamic relationship between the internal and the external, myself and the others, and therefore the points of view differ. Once we understand this, we can accept differences.
In my pieces I use kidskin, which has two faces, a smooth one and a textured one that refer to these different points of view.
The pieces are open showing both sides that are connected to one another and I sew them using cotton thread in a simple stitch so as to create shapes and connections.
I reflect on the options of the discourse and the possible viewpoints which have to be open and in connection to their context.
